Filming for Adventure Cities has Officially Begun

Heliconia, the video production and marketing company behind the adventure travel series Epic Trails and Facing Waves, is pleased to announce that filming has officially begun for Adventure Cities – a timely and inspiring adventure travel show hosted by award-winning travel journalist, Jonathan Thompson.

Cities are the cultural centers of our planet and provide endless opportunity for exploration. They are also home – or gateways – to incredible outdoor adventure. The Adventure Cities series follows Jonathan on his travels as he searches for adventure and reveals the wonderful cultures, allures, and attractions of the world’s most fascinating urban centers.

The first film shoot of the new series took place earlier this summer in two incredible cities in Switzerland: Zürich and Geneva. Partnering with Switzerland Tourism, the team spent eight days filming everything from watch and knife making, tuk-tuk fondue rides, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, surfing, hiking, and visiting spectacular waterfalls.

The second film shoot of the series just wrapped up in lively and historic Québec City. Following that, filming will continue in Ottawa, Canada; Amman, Jordan; Banff, Canada; Krakow, Poland; Charleston, South Carolina; St. Pete Clearwater, Florida; and Juneau, Alaska. The series is set to premiere on Outside TV in 2022.

Filming for season one of this exciting new project is now sold out, but destinations interested in being featured in season two of Adventure Cities are encouraged to reach out to Heliconia’s Partnership Manager, Stefanie Manton-Ward at stefanie@helipress.com.

Adventure Cities Trip Report – Switzerland

The first two film shoots for Adventure Cities, an exciting new television series set to premiere on Outside TV in 2022, are officially a wrap. The crew spent eight magical days in Switzerland during the end of August and beginning of September, turning the lens on the surprising and adventurous cities of Geneva and Zürich.

Geneva

First up was Geneva. Here, celebrated travel journalist and Adventure Cities host, Jonathan Thompson quickly discovered that Geneva is a destination in and of itself, and not just a stop on the way to go skiing in the Alps.

While in Geneva, Jonathan participated in a unique watch-making experience, visited the Victorinox Flagship Store, went rafting and hiking, and explored Lake Geneva in style via a luxury power boat.

Zürich

Saying goodbye to Geneva, the crew then headed over to Zürich. So much more than a banking city, Zürich held surprise after surprise for the team.

Adventures included stand up paddle boarding, surfing, mountain biking, a trip to the Rhine Falls, castle touring, visiting the stunning and luxurious Thermalbad & Spa, and enjoying a decadent tuk-tuk fondue and wine tour.

Geneva and Zürich will be featured in two separate episodes of Adventure Cities, premiering in 2022. In the meantime, be sure to follow Jonathan’s social channels (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) for behind the scenes filming adventures.
