Sales & Sponsorship Representative

Full-Time,  Salary TBD based on experience

Location: Beachburg, ON (in-house position)

Start date: March, 2020


Heliconia is looking for a full-time Sales Representative to sell advertising and sponsorship packages for its TV, Digital Video and Social Media projects. The Sales Representative would be responsible for managing relationships with current Heliconia advertisers and for finding new advertising partners. The position also involves key sales tasks such as the creation of proposals, the negotiating of contracts, the updating of Heliconia’s CRM system, travel to events, and ongoing communications with project partners.

The successful candidate must be personable, self-guided, very motivated, well organized, have a strong sales background and able to work out of the Beachburg office. The Sales Representative will work under the direction of the executive team and will be an integral part of all Heliconia projects.  Research to find new sales leads and opportunities for the sales team.

Sales Representative Job Duties:
  • Sell advertising/sponsorship packages by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Develop new business with existing clients
  • Prospect for new business and build new client relationships
  • Proactively take on the development of presentations, proposals, and follow-ups
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements
  • Clearly communicate with project stakeholders by providing support, keeping all parties informed, and recommending new opportunities
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all client matters
  • Collaborate with Heliconia team to identify and execute plans for new opportunities
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM system
  • Travel to key trade shows in Canada, USA, and Internationally
  • Work out of the Beachburg office full time
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years of sales experience (minimum) with proven results (mandatory)
  • Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of outdoor industry and trends considered an asset
  • Familiarity with advertising media and sponsorship considered an asset
